Big things in the future for Stephen Graf!
As is often the case with business owners, Stephen Graf had become increasingly dissatisfied with the way his former employer was running the auto body repair shop where he was working. In November 2004, Stephen decided it was time to take the leap and open his own shop, Pearson Road Collision Repair. With 23 years of experience in automotive body repair Stephen knew if he focused on his quality workmanship and customer service skills he could be very successful on his own.
Stephen sees big things for the future of his business. His goals include purchasing the business property in the next four years, adding two to three employees and possibly adding fenced outside storage for vehicles. Stephen has continued to pursue educational opportunities to handle the office administration part of the business, as well, as skills to deal with the work crew. A recent management course has also taught him to be aware of things that would not normally occur to an auto body mechanic. However, Stephen admits he still has a lot to learn.
Stephen's approach to business has been Focus, Drive and Vision. "Concentrating on where you want to be in five years is a huge step to accomplishing your goals," Stephen said.
Stephen learned about Tri-County EDC's financing services from a local commercial bank. This partnership has been extremely beneficial to Stephen. Tri-County EDC has taught him many things including how the money flows through his business. Before building a relationship with Tri-County EDC, Stephen had maxed out all his credit cards and didn't know where to turn.
